I began the writing side of my career with a series of children’s fantasies. This was completely accidental; invited by a local primary school to take assemblies, I began to make up stories as I went. We all seemed to enjoy ourselves, and the staff urged me to get these down on paper.
The result was Hagbane’s Doom. It became an instant success and gained a Children’s Book of the Year award – as did the sequel, Gublak’s Greed. In all, I wrote 5 volumes.
